Welcome to BattleWolf.org
Battle Wolf is a 501(c)(3) educational organization. We are dedicated to portraying maritime piracy from the 8th to the 18th century as accurately as possible through re-enactment. Our mission is simple: recreate the merryment and atmosphere of piracy from the early part of the first millenium until the Golden age of Piracy, with which we are all familiar due to the popularization of the subject by such films as Disney's "Pirates of the Carribean". We take a more liberal approach to Reniassance Faire piracy in that we allow Vikings, Buccaneers, Privateers, Filibusters, pirates of the Mediterranean and of the far east.
It may be reasonable to assume that piracy has existed for as long as the oceans were plied for commerce. The earliest documented instances of piracy are the exploits of the Sea Peoples who threatened the Aegean and Mediterranean in the 13th century BC. It may also be reasonable to assume that the crew of wayward scallywags known as the Battle Wolf will be around for some time to come. We welcome you to our website, and may the wind always be at your back!
